“Our message to Iran’s leaders is simple: you are no longer immune. Wherever your octopus arms reach – we will sever them,” said Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett on Wednesday.

The Israeli Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday night struck tens of Iranian and Syrian targets in Syria, including “wide-scale strikes on Iranian Quds Force and Syrian Armed Forces targets in Syria in response to the rockets fired at Israel by an Iranian force in Syria,” reported the IDF.

The targets included surface-to-air missiles, headquarters, weapons caches and military bases in Syria, the IDF stated, while providing a detailed map of the locations of the attacks.

Following the Tuesday night strike, Defense Minister Naftali Bennett stated, “[T]he rules have changed: whoever shoots at the State of Israel during the day will not sleep at night. Our message to Iran’s leaders is simple: you are no longer immune. Wherever your octopus arms reach – we will sever them.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also commented on the strike in the hours that followed, “I have made it clear that whoever hurts us – we will hurt him. This is what we did overnight vis-à-vis military targets of the Iranian Al Quds force and Syrian military targets in Syria after a barrage of rockets was launched at Israel. We will continue to vigorously maintain the security of Israel.”

Iran uses its positions in Syria to transfer weapons and infrastructure to its terror proxy in Lebanon, Hezbollah, while attempting to establish another military front against Israel from the Syrian Golan Heights.

Israeli has repeatedly warned it will not accept such a threat on its northern border.
