Jewish students in the UK were distressed at having to defend the commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day at the conference of the National Union of Students.
At the three-day conference this week of Britain’s National Union of Students (NUS) in Brighton, England, Jewish students were horrified at having to defend a motion in favor of the commemoration of Holocaust Memorial Day.
Although the motion passed, the fierce opposition to commemorating the Holocaust distressed many Jewish students, who believe it represents a growing anti-Semitism in the UK.
Watch this student receive thunderous applause when pleading with the assembled to vote against the motion, saying Holocaust commemoration suggests that some (i.e. Jewish) lives are more important that others.
