Israel is sharing its “Startup Nation” spirit with the world.

Israel’s MASHAV organization, the Jewish state’s international humanitarian and development agency, recently welcomed leading entrepreneurs from several European countries taking part in a first-of-its-kind Regional Seminar on Innovative Entrepreneurship.

The “Visegrád Four,” or V4, is a cultural and political alliance of four Central European states – the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia.

The professional program combines lectures with professional field visits to explore Israel’s robust entrepreneurial ecosystem, and includes a session on “Supertools for Entrepreneurs” focusing on startup strategy, a group mentorship session, and investor meeting do’s-and-don’ts.

The group also went on a three-day study visit to Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. They visited the Old City of Jerusalem and Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum, as well as embassy representatives.

Since the establishment in 1961 of MASHAV Carmel Training Center (MCTC), which hosts the program, some 20,000 participants from over 150 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Oceania and the Caribbean have attended over 650 programs and workshops and 29 international conferences for women leaders.

In addition, MCTC conducts between 20-30 institutional capacity-building programs in partner countries each year for hundreds of more trainees throughout the developing world.

MCTC enjoys the active cooperation of a number of international organizations, governmental and non-governmental organizations and development authorities.

MASHAV concentrates on human and institutional capacity building by sharing Israel’s own development experience and expertise, implementing know-how and transferring innovative technologies and tested methodologies adaptable for developing country needs.
