“You’d have an explosion, an absolute explosion in the region,” John Kerry said when Trump recognized Jerusalem as the Israeli capital.

On December 6, 2017, President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of the State of Israel, and five months later the US moved its embassy there from Tel Aviv.

The Washington Free Beacon published a “flashback” video on Wednesday, a day after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed historic peace agreements with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain. More Arab countries will follow suit, Trump said.

The video shows media pundits and US government officials – including former Secretary of State John Kerry – saying all hope for peace in the Middle East will be lost because of Trump’s recognition of the eternal Jewish capital and predicting violence.

Kerry, under the Obama administration, led several rounds of Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, which ultimately failed.
