With the increasing attacks from Hamas-controlled Gaza, Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman has suggested that Israel consider reoccupying the Strip.
Israel attacked 12 targets in Hamas-controlled Gaza overnight on Saturday, hitting weapons-production centers and underground rocket launchers, among other targets.
This followed an increase in terror activity from Hamas, including rockets into Israel early Saturday evening exploded in the industrial area of the city of Sderot in southern Israel early Saturday evening.
Gaza Rockets Burn Sderot Factory to the Ground
There were no serious injuries, however, a plastics factory was completely burned before several firefighting units from the southern region managed to control the blaze.
Four employees succeeded in escaping from the building unharmed. Three workers suffered minor injuries; Magen David Adom paramedics evacuated them to a hospital in nearby Ashkelon.
A second rocket exploded outside of the city.
Hamas terror activity has intensified while the IDF searches Palestinian Arab villages for Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Sha’ar and Naftali Frankel – the three teenagers abducted by Hamas more than two weeks ago by Hamas operatives Marwan Kawasme and Amer Abu Aysha.
Sderot Mayor Alon Davidi said that his city stands behind the Israeli leadership and the IDF, which is searching around the clock to bring the boys home.
“We need to decide if we are going with an alternative that entails fully conquering the Gaza Strip,” Liberman told Army Radio. “We saw that a limited military operation only serves to boost Hamas, so the alternative choice is clear.”
