Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has landed in Israel after cutting short his visit in the US due to the attack in the town of Majdal Shams during which 12 children and youths were killed by a Hezbollah rocket, according to Israeli media.
The prime minister is now reportedly making his way to the Kirya military base in Tel Aviv, where he will convene a situational assessment with the Security Cabinet.
On Saturday evening, Netanyahu spoke with Druze spiritual leader Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif regarding the Hezbollah attack.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, Netanyahu “made it clear that Israel will not overlook this murderous attack and that Hezbollah will pay a heavy price which it has not paid up to now.”
