The Home Front Command, Yad Ezra V’Shulamit and volunteers joined together to deliver hundreds of Passover food packages door to door and to elderly people who couldn’t come pick up a basket.
“We have to work together to make sure everyone has food,” said Aryeh Lurie, founder of Yad Ezra V’Shulamit. “We are receiving thousands of calls for food for Passover and our ‘regulars’ can’t come out of their homes to pick up their baskets. The Home Front Command and volunteers have been amazing. Together we are trying to get to everyone,” explained Lurie.
A father with several children lost his job AND was under quarantine. He called in a panic with no money for food for his kids and no way to get food even if he had money. Yad Ezra V’Shulamit got him a basket filled with everything he needs for the week and for a Passover Seder.
Another family called that just landed from America on aliyah. The quarantine hotels were full so they were asked to find a place and isolate themselves for two weeks. None of them could leave their home to get food so we managed to get them a basket.
The Home Front Command, volunteers in Israel and Yad Ezra V’Shulamit together make a great team. You, our kind donors make it all possible and are the key! Together, we can ensure that everyone will make it through this crisis and have food for the Passover Seder.
