Israeli security forces arrested three Palestinian terrorists in Shechem (Nablus) on Monday suspected of killing a soldier in October.

Staff-Sgt. Ido Baruch, 21, was killed in a drive-by shooting near Shavei Shomron, in northern Samaria.

During the attempt to arrest the suspects, there was an exchange of fire between the security forces and the fugitives. Two of the wanted Palestinians were injured before being captured. During a search of the building, soldiers confiscated two M16 weapons.

The suspects were transferred to the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) for questioning. No Israeli forces were injured.

A statement issued by the Shin Bet did not specify which terror group the suspects were affiliated with, but Baruch’s killers are widely believed to be associated with the Lions’ Den terror group, which mostly operates in the area of Shechem and Jenin.

In an ongoing sweep against terror in Judea and Samaria, the IDF has thwarted 500 terror attacks and arrested more than 2,500 suspects. Operation Wave Breaker was launched by the Israel Defense Forces following a surge of Palestinian terror attacks in the spring of 2022 which killed 19 people.
