The IDF said Monday that it eliminated three Hamas terrorists who had been planning attacks against Israeli civilians and troops and working to rebuild the group’s capabilities in violation of the ceasefire.
Those killed included a Hamas cell commander and two terrorists from Hamas’ military wing, according to the IDF.
The military said the three had recently been involved in advancing attacks and efforts to restore Hamas’ operational capabilities.
“Recently, the terrorists advanced terror attacks against Israeli civilians & IDF troops and operated to restore Hamas’ capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire,” the IDF said on X. “The terrorists were eliminated in order to remove the threat they posed.”
In a separate announcement Monday on X, the IDF said it had obtained an internal Hamas document describing a proposal to place explosives around camps for displaced people in Gaza.
According to the military, the document showed that Hamas’ engineering department proposed positioning explosive devices around the camps and detonating them when IDF troops approached.
The plan would have endangered civilians living in the camps while creating panic that could provide cover for Hamas terrorists to escape, the IDF said.
The military described the proposal as part of preparations intended to protect Hamas leaders and terrorists while exposing the civilian population to potential harm.
“This was part of Hamas’ preparations to protect its leadership and terrorists, while endangering and exploiting the civilian population in the area,” the IDF said, adding that Hamas was “fully aware that these actions were likely to cause direct harm to civilians.”
