Israel’s exposure of the Amad Project proves that Iran’s claim about a religious ban on nuclear weapons is a lie!

Ever since suspicions arose in 2002 that Iran has a military nuclear program, Iran’s leaders have vehemently denied the existence of such aspirations, declaring that Iran does not have, never had and never will have a military nuclear program.

They stressed that nuclear weapons are banned by Islam, emphasizing that Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has issued a Fatwa, a Muslim religious ruling, prohibiting the development, manufacture, possession and use of such weapons of mass destrcution.

However, Israel’s recent exposure of Amad Project, Iran’s military nuclear program, reveals that all the Iranian regime officials who claimed that Islam bans nuclear weapons lied on this matter.

All the statements about a Fatwa are blatant lies. This is not a surprise, as Iranian regime officials have never hesitated to lie about matters that pertain to the tenets of the Islamic faith in order to further Iran’s military program unhindered.

Through their dishonesty, Iran’s rulers demonstrated their willingness to use Islam as a cover for their nefarious plans, as the Islamic Republic relies on Khamenei’s religious authority to justify its positions.

Commenting on the issue, the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI) noted, “The Iranian regime exploits the religion in a manipulative manner to consolidate its grip on Iran and the region, as exemplified by its claim that its presence in Syria is motivated by the need to protect the Shi’ite holy sites there.”

“For the Islamic Revolution regime, the goal of obtaining nuclear weapons supersedes any religious value, and therefore any Western attitude which regards the Iranian regime as motivated by religious values is misguided,” MEMRI added.
