Israeli coalition leaders said retribution against Iranian aggression would come following the Islamic Republic’s direct attack against the Jewish state on Saturday night.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told the nation “We have determined a clear principle: Whoever harms us, we will harm them. We will defend ourselves against any threat and will do so level-headedly and with determination.”

Defense Minister Yoav Gallant told U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin that the defense establishment was prepared for any further attempts to attack the State of Israel, per an Israeli readout of the call.

“The IDF and the State of Israel are prepared for defense and attack, and with God’s help we will pursue our enemies and destroy them and we will not return until they are destroyed,” wrote Bezalel Smotrich, the Israeli finance minister.

“In the face of escalating aggression from Iran against the State of Israel, we stand resolute and unwavering,” wrote Danny Danon, a Knesset member from the Likud party. “Just as we have triumphed over challenges and hostilities in the past, we are prepared to meet this threat from the fanatical ayatollahs of Iran head-on.”

Transportation Minister Miri Regev said Israel was prepared to attack Iran, “the head of the snake of the axis of evil.”

Foreign Minister Israel Katz posted a series of tweets thanking world leaders, individually, who voiced support for Israel. “Today, the entire free world must stand with Israel against the axis of Iranian evil,” he added.
