Terrorists fired rockets at Israel from the Gaza Strip on Monday, causing an Israeli counterstrike on Hamas positions.

By Aryeh Savir, TPS

Gaza-based terrorists fired two rockets at Israel early Monday morning, causing no injuries or damage.

The rockets apparently landed in the sea, off the coast near the city of Ashdod.

The Red Alert sirens did not go off and the Iron Dome defense system did not engage the projectiles.

In response, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) bombed Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, including workshops for its terror tunnel-digging project.

The IDF stated that it “views with severity any terrorist activity against Israel and is prepared and ready to act as resolutely as necessary, against attempts to harm Israeli citizens and their sovereignty.”

“The terrorist organization Hamas bears responsibility for what is happening in and out of the Gaza Strip, and it will bear the consequences of the terrorist acts against the citizens of Israel,” the IDF underscored.

The last rocket attack from Gaza occurred last month. A rocket that was fired at Israel exploded near the border fence inside the Strip, causing no injuries or damage.
