Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel “will act forcefully against its enemies” after Gaza terrorists resumed attacks against southern Israel.

On Monday – the last day of the Passover festival – the Israeli Air Force targeted two terror activity sites in the southern Gaza Strip and a third site in the central Gaza Strip, in response to the latest severe aggression emanating from Gaza, according to the official Israel Defense Forces blog. Direct hits were confirmed.

On Sunday evening, an IED was activated against IDF soldiers patrolling the security fence in the southern Gaza Strip, the blog continues.

Twelve hours later, at around 7:15 Monday morning, Gaza terrorists fired an anti-tank missile at an IDF patrol along the security fence in the same area, causing no damage or injuries. Since then, seven rockets were fired from Gaza, hitting southern Israel. One rocket caused damage to civilian infrastructure in the city of Sderot.

IDF Vows to Defeat Gaza Terrorists

Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, the IDF spokesman, stated:

“Israeli civilians celebrating the Passover Holiday woke up this morning to the sound of Code-Red alarms and rockets. It is our obligation to seek out and target those who wish to attack our civilians and soldiers and to eliminate their capabilities. Hamas rocket terrorism is an intolerable reality Israelis should not have to accept.”

“We shall continue to act forcefully against our enemies,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted. “Today, the Israel Defense Forces attacked in the Gaza Strip those who sought to harm the citizens of Israel and disturb the calm of the holiday.”

“Our policy is clear – to respond quickly and strongly,” the Israeli leader continued. “We strike at whoever comes to attack us. This is what we have done and this is what we will do. I would like to thank the police personnel, soldiers and volunteers, and all members of the security and rescue services, who guarded the millions of Israelis throughout Passover.”

Since the beginning of 2014, more than 100 rockets fired from Gaza hit southern Israel, the IDF confirmed.
