After the Palestinian governor of Hebron paid a condolence call to the family of the terrorist who murdered a 13-year-old Jewish girl, the IDF revoked his entry permit into Israel for his encouragement of terror attacks.

The Palestinian Governor of Hebron Kamel Ahmed Hassan Hamid on Sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of Palestinian terrorist Mohammad Taraireh, 17, who murdered Hallel Yaffa Ariel, 13, while she was sleeping in bed on Thursday. He praised the families of the Palestinian terrorists who committed the attacks last week, including the attack in which Palestinian terrorists shot and murdered Michael Mark, 48 and a father of 10.

In response, The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the IDF unit responsible for implementing government policy in Judea and Samaria and vis-à-vis the Gaza Strip, revoked his entry permit into Israel, saying his actions consisted of “support for terrorism” in one of its “many manifestations.”

“Visiting and praising these families is a despicable encouragement to terrorism! And what is the message here? Hebron governor expressing his support for the murder of a 13-year-old girl?” COGAT stated.

“We expect the Palestinian leadership to take responsibility and to call for calmness, but instead they are doing the opposite,” it added.

According to Israel’s Ha’aretz, the governor claimed that the visit to the terrorist’s home was of a social and religious nature, and had no political statement. Such condolence calls are a norm in Palestinian society, he added, and don’t constitute a statement of support for the terrorist’s acts.

“Israel will not accept the support and encouragement of terrorist attacks, and we hope the world won’t either,” COGAT concluded.

In related news, IDF forces arrested two of Taraireh’s brother late Sunday night.

Earlier on Sunday, IDF forces arrested Taraireh’s sister for praising his actions. The IDF said in a statement that the arrest was part of its crackdown on incitement and support for terrorism.

Taraireh’s father was also arrested by Israeli forces after the attack.

Taraireh’s female cousin was killed on Friday as she attempted to stab a female IDF soldier who was securing the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron.

Petition to the United States and European Union

We demand that all funding of the PA be stopped immediately. The brutal murder of Israelis committed by Palestinian terrorists throughout Israel is the latest result of ongoing PA incitement against Israeli citizens. Funding the PA means funding terror.
