Israeli design college places near the top of Business of Fashion’s Global Fashion School Rankings.
The Fashion Design Department at Israel’s Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art in Ramat Gan was ranked 5th in the category of schools that most influenced the fashion world, and ranked 11th among all the fashion design institutions., according to rankings compiled by the Business of Fashion (BoF) publication.
“Shenkar blends both the technical and conceptual in its curriculum. Graduates leave the college feeling equipped for a profession in the fashion industry,” the fashion website writes about the Tel Aviv school.
Notable alumni of Shenkar include Alber Elbaz of Lanvin and Kobi Halperin of Elie Tahari.
The Business of Fashion, considered an essential daily resource for fashion creatives, executives and entrepreneurs in over 200 countries, says its inaugural Global Fashion School Rankings surveyed students and alumni of 24 fashion schools around the world and received feedback from 88 HR professionals and global fashion influencers. The website also weighed in with its own analysis.
The new list measured fashion institutions based on their global influence, learning experience and long-term value.
