Fighting all facets of Palestinian terrorism, Israeli forces are operating to curb the production and proliferation of improvised assault weapons used by terrorists.

IDF and the Shin Bet (Israel’s Security Agency) have conducted several operations over the past months to expose and shut down munitions production plants in Palestinian controlled areas in Judea and Samaria.

A Shin Bet spokesman announced Sunday that a joint Shin Bet-IDF raid on Friday night led to the seizure of 15 improvised assault weapons at the Palestinian village of Yabed, near Jenin, in Samaria.

At the beginning of the month, Israeli forces seized machinery used for the production of weapons, together with several prepared weapons.

The use of improvised automatic weapons has become more prevalent in the recent Palestinian attacks, including several shooting attacks in Jerusalem last week.

In counter terror raids conducted on Saturday night, Israeli security forces arrested 15 wanted Palestinians, including 12 suspected wanted in connections to terror activities.
