Indeni’s partnership with the New York City police and fire departments will help save lives.

The New York City Police Department (NYPD) and the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) will be using an Israeli security software to protect their computer networks, reports The Jerusalem Post.
Indeni, an Israeli IT security company headquartered in Tel Aviv and San Francisco, developed a software that can preemptively catch and prevent malicious multi-networked computer system malfunctions before they damage critical components.
With its new partnership with the NYPD and FDNY, the Israeli tech company has been added to the list of official software suppliers for the U.S. federal government.
“Today, emergency calls to the police, important government services, and water and electricity suppliers, are all dependent on advanced computer systems,” said Indeni CEO Yoni Leitersdorf.
“These systems must be immune to hacking and available 100 percent of the time. This responsibility lies on the shoulders of information security professionals around the world. We are proud of the opportunity we have been given to help them, and to allow us all to rely on our emergency services,” he added.
Despite being founded only 10 years ago, Indeni has joined the major leagues. Among the heavy hitters to whom Indeni provides protection are the Israel Defense Forces, Mastercard, and telecommunications giant Comcast.
Indeni’s partnership with NYC emergency services will literally help save lives.
In 2013 the city’s 911 computer system crashed three times, reported WNBC at the time. According to the report, 911 call-takers had to use pen and paper to jot down emergency information and run it over to EMS dispatchers.
