The app was launched in 2011 and today is used by over 720 million people, the developers stated.

“Urban mobility is the lifeline to jobs, healthcare, and education. We are so proud that in just a few years Moovit is now providing service to hundreds of millions of users in 100 countries, helping them get from A to B with confidence and convenience,” Nir Erez, the company’s co-founder and CEO said.

Aside from assisting users in their daily commutes, Moovit supplies data to municipalities, transport companies and authorities, as well as businesses, facilitating more efficient urban planning and business development.

Moovit was founded in the city of Ness Ziona in central Israel. Its headquarters have remained in Israel with additional offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia.
