Knesset member Ayman Odeh posted in Arabic on his Facebook page: “The intifada will end the occupation and will hoist the Palestinian flag over Al-Aqsa.”

The Israeli Zionist watchdog group Im Tirtzu (Hebrew for “If you will it,” using the expression coined by Theodor Herzl, founder of Modern Zionism) on Tuesday announced that it caught the Ayman Odeh, head of the Knesset’s Arab Joint List alliance, calling for Arabs to stage an armed uprising and praising Arab youth for their role in the recent violent clashes in Jerusalem.
“The occupation backed down in the face of the youth of Jerusalem and removed the barricades at Bab al-‘Amud (Damascus Gate in the Old City of Jerusalem),” Odeh posted Sunday, following several days of violent clashes between Arabs and police. “This wonderful and honorable victory belongs to the youth of Jerusalem.”
Odeh continued: “These clashes are sometimes calm and sometimes erupt, and it will be so until the intifada comes and brings an end to the occupation and hoists the Palestinian flag over the Al-Aqsa Mosque, over the churches, and over the liberated gates of Jerusalem. We extend our greetings to the free people of Jerusalem.”
The posting was discovered and translated by the Arabic Desk of Im Tirtzu.
“In recent days, we have been monitoring the posts of Knesset members from Arab parties that have nearly all voiced praise for the Arab rioters in Jerusalem,” Im Tirtzu said in a statement. “This support of violence against Jews is further proof why it would be a disaster to establish a government reliant on outright anti-Zionist parties that support violence and oppose Israel’s existence as a Jewish and democratic state.”
With political leaders still trying to form a new government after last month’s inconclusive national elections, Im Tirtzu put out a call for Zionist unity: “We call on the leaders of the nationalist parties to take personal responsibility and form a nationalist government.”
