Israel’s presidential family sent a lovely baby dress and charm to newborn British Princess Charlotte, the first daughter and second child of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Israel’s President Reuven and First Lady Nechama Rivlin sent on Monday a gift and their good wishes to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince William and Kate, on the birth of their daughter, Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
The gift included a beaded brooch with a heart-shaped charm and a ‘Hamsa’ – the Jewish hand-shaped symbol for blessings, fortune and success. The gift also included an Israeli-made dress for a newborn baby with ‘From Israel with Love’ printed on the front.
In an accompanying letter to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the President and First Lady expressed their congratulations to the British Royal Family on behalf of the citizens of Israel.
“On behalf of ourselves and of the citizens of the State of Israel, please allow us to offer our congratulations and good wishes on the birth of Your Majesty’s great-granddaughter, the new baby princess, to you and all the members of the Royal Family,” they wrote.
“We would also like, through your good offices, to convey a warm message of congratulations and good wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their daughter, sister to Prince George, and to wish them much joy health and happiness.”
Israeli Designer Learned her Trade in London
The dress designer, Sharona Barzilai of baby clothes company Minime, said, “For me, this closes a circle as I learned to be a dressmaker in London, and I am delighted that my design has been sent as a present to the new princess.”
“Nechama and I, on behalf of all the citizens of Israel, send our sincerest blessings to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, her [Princess Charlotte] and all the people of the United Kingdom,” Rivlin wrote on his Facebook page.
