The IDF Home Front Command on Sunday morning ordered residents of Moshav Yafit in the Jordan Valley to take shelter immediately due to a suspected terrorist infiltration.

“Enter the building immediately, lock the doors and close the windows. Do not leave the building until you receive notification of the end of the event,” the military instructed residents.

One suspect was spotted approaching the security fence and subsequently fled, according to Walla!.

Yafit is located close to the Jordanian border, about 25 miles northeast of Jerusalem.

Last month, a civilian security guard shot and killed an armed Palestinian terrorist who had infiltrated the Israeli community of Teneh Omarim, near Hebron.

Security camera footage showed the terrorist, identified by Arab media as Alaa Kisiya, casually walking up to the village entrance, sliding under its security gate and then roaming around with a knife in his right hand.

He passed a playground full of women and children before approaching the synagogue. He was then neutralized by a member of Teneh Omarim security force.
