At a pro-Israel rally in Stockholm, Lapid said that the Swedish government, particularly its foreign minister, is ‘on the wrong side of history.’

Member of Knesset Yair Lapid, head of the Yesh Atid party, addressed an annual pro-Israel rally in Stockholm on Sunday, where he encouraged the crowd to support Israel with pride while slamming the U.N., the media and the Swedish government for their bias against the Jewish state.

He specifically singled out Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom, saying, “Your government, and in particular your foreign minister, are on the wrong side of history and on the wrong side of morality.”

In January, in a continuation of offensive and biased statements against the Jewish state, Wallstrom accused Israel of conducting extrajudicial executions of Palestinians and called for an international probe. In response, Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said that Swedish officials were no longer welcome in Israel.

‘This is Anti-Semitism’

Lapid discussed the “disturbing obsession about Israel and the Jews” despite the profound human rights abuses and genocides around the world, which garner minimal condemnation in comparison to the criticism leveled against the democratic State of Israel.

“This is not criticism. This is anti-Semitism,” he stated.

Activists leading the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement “want a Palestinian state on the ashes of Israel. This is not going to happen, “Lapid asserted. “We Israelis refuse to leave and we refuse to die.”

To hearty applause, he led the rally in declaring loudly, “We love Israel.”
