Palestinain march against the US and Trump

“This racist [Trump], the copy of Hitler, does not want to see us free but rather dead, uprooted, expelled and captive,” an op-ed in the official Palestinian daily alleged.

The Palestinians continue to demonize US President Donald Trump and have again resorted to describing him as “the copy of Hitler” and a “racist,” Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), a watchdog which monitors Palestinian media and incitement, reported.

This latest vicious tirade followed the US’ veto of a United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution calling for “international protection” for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, submitted by Kuwait following Israel’s defense of its border against the Hamas-led violent “March of Return.”

“This racist [Trump], the copy of Hitler, does not want to see us free but rather dead, uprooted, expelled and captive,” Muwaffaq Matar, a member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council, wrote in the official Palestinian Authority (PA) daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida on Sunday.

“He is happy to see us [the Palestinians] hungry, chasing the American sack of flour and leaving the principle of freedom thousands of miles behind us,” the op-ed alleged, PMW said.

Matar chose to interpret the American motives behind the decision to veto the Kuwaiti resolution as a US genocidal drive against the Palestinians.

The US vetoed the resolution, which would have compromised Israel’s security. It did not mention Hamas’ rule over the Gaza Strip, the violent demonstrations and attempts to breach Israel’s border, or the recent escalation of rocket fire launched by Palestinian terrorists from Gaza into Israel.

‘Neo-Racist, Hitleresque, Balfouresque Trump’

Similarly, Matar charged last month that Trump is “colonialist, neo-racist, Hitleresque, [and] Balfouresque” in an op-ed condemning the missile strikes on Syrian chemical weapons facilities by the US, the UK and France in April this year.

By “Balfouresque” he was referring to the Balfour Declaration of November 2, 1917, which was an official letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty’s government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.”

In 1922, the League of Nations adopted this position and made the British Mandate “responsible for putting into effect the declaration,” which led to the UN vote in 1947 and the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948.

“I do not believe that colonialist, neo-racist, Hitleresque, Balfouresque Trump is interested in the welfare of a single Syrian and his right to live, since the same Trump justifies the war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by the officers of the occupation’s army, its soldiers, and its settlers, and he defends these crimes,” Matar wrote.

The Palestinians have been openly displaying their contempt for the US in recent months, since Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved the American embassy there.

The Palestinian leaders’ verbal attacks on the US are now being translated into acts of violence against US delegations visiting Palestinian communities.
