“It’s much more than sports. It’s Jewish brotherhood…and sisterhood.”
The emotions were palpable at the opening of the 21st Maccabiah at Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem Thursday evening, where 10,000 Jewish athletes from around the world competed in an atmosphere of joy and support.
It was especially joyful after two years of limitations on gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic.
