A 23 year old man on Sunday afternoon was murdered in a shooting terror attack in the Jordan Valley region of eastern Israel, according to reports.

The attack took place near the community of Rotem in the Jordan Valley.

Another man about 33 years old was moderately wounded at an additional attack scene, near the community of Mehola in the Jordan Valley. A helicopter of the Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency medical service flew him to the hospital as he suffered wounds to his lower body.

Security forces have been stationed in the area of the attack, and a hunt is underway for the terrorists.

The IDF has begun operations in Arab villages in the northern Jordan Valley area, according to Palestinian Arab reports.

The Torat Lehima organization provided a picture from the scene.

“We received a report about a shooting attack near the Mehola Junction. When we arrived, we gave treatment to a fully conscious 33 year old man with wounds to his lower body, including by stopping bleeding, and we brought him to an MDA helicopter that landed at the scene,” MDA medic Mati Karmi said, according to Israel National News.

He noted the medics then received a report of another vehicle containing “an unconscious wounded man with bullet wounds.”

“Together with a military medical team, we administered aid to the second wounded man, but his wounds were critical and we were forced to confirm his death.”
