The message Palestinian student bodies convey through their maps and symbols is Israel will be replaced by “Palestine” through violence and terror.
Several Palestinian student bodies promote a Palestinian state, which will erase Israel through violence and terrorism, motivated by Islam.
At two Palestinian universities, An-Najah National University in Shechem (Nablus) and Al-Quds Open University, Fatah’s student movement Shabiba sends a clear message. The text on their logos reads: “From the sea of blood of the, Shahids, Martyrs, we will create a state.”
A Shahid is a Muslim martyr who died for Allah fighting non-believers.
By calling terrorists Shahids, the Palestinian leadership tells its people murdering Israelis is positive Islamic behavior sanctioned by Islam, explains Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), which monitors Palestinian media incitement.
The logo is a coat of arms featuring a raised fist in the shape of a map of “Palestine” that presents all of Israel as “Palestine,” together with the Palestinian Authority (PA) areas.
The symbol also features an image of the Dome of the Rock and the keffiyeh (Arab headdress) pattern. Both Fatah student movement branches use this logo, adding the name of their respective universities.
The logo of An-Najah National University recently appeared on Fatah’s official Facebook page in an announcement publicizing upcoming elections for the student union council.
Fatah is PA head Mahmoud Abbas’ political faction.
The ideology that “Palestine” is to be created from the blood of “Martyrs” echoes Fatah leaders’ promotion and encouragement of terror and glorification of terrorists, PMW pointed out.
Last year, Shabiba at Birzeit University campaigned with a poster similar to its logo. The poster’s text read, “Plant it [the knife] in the heart of your enemy.”
At Birzeit University, Fatah’s Shabiba has also adopted the fist-shaped map of “Palestine” and added the text, “We will return.” Above the logo the text states: “Volunteering, Giving, Sacrifice, and Self-Sacrifice.”
The map also appears on Fatah Shabiba’s general logo, which is also the logo used by Shabiba at the Arab American University in Ramallah.
The use of the PA’s map of “Palestine,” which rejects Israel’s existence in any borders reflects the PA’s and Fatah’s general message that all of Israel is “Palestine,” PMW further explained.
Other branches of Fatah’s student movement at different universities also erase Israel’s right to exist by using the map that shows only “Palestine.”
