In the third terror attack over the past week, a Palestinian was shot dead after stabbing and wounding an Israeli.
A Palestinian terrorist stabbed and moderately wounded an Israeli Sunday night when he stopped for gas on route 443, a major highway that runs through the Binyamin Region.
An IDF unit that was in the area shot and killed the terrorist.
The victim, 26, who sustained stab wounds to his upper body, was treated at the scene by IDF and MDA medics and then evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem, were he was admitted and in stable condition.
The victim, named only as Yehuda, recounted for IDF Radio Monday morning what he experienced during the attack.
“He [the terrorist] came from behind, I felt stabbed all of the sudden, I ran, fled from him.”
“I ran, fell, got up and ran again, and fell again,” he continued. “He continued to chase me and stabbed me again. I shouted ‘help, help,’ got into my car as I was bleeding and drove away.”
Yehuda pointed out that the Arab attendants at the gas station did not come to assist him. “They saw but did not come over for help, even after I was stabbed. He [the terrorist] did not stop until I drove away.”
The IDF spokesperson’s unit reports that there were three or four other assailants. The IDF has launched a manhunt for them.
Sunday’s attack comes after three IDF soldiers were wounded in a vehicular terror attack in Samaria on Thursday. Two of the soldiers are still hospitalized in serious condition.
Last Monday night an Israeli woman, 27, was moderately wounded when a Palestinian terrorist threw a Molotov cocktail at her car on the Ben Zion Netanyahu interchange on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Her husband, who was with her, escaped unharmed. Two other Israelis were wounded in the attack.
