Police officials released on Wednesday further photos and information on the massacre in a Jerusalem synagogue which was carried out by two Arab terrorists in November.

New photos from the scene, taken by a passerby, document the deadly moments in which police forces arrived on the scene and confronted the terrorists. A Druze police officer was killed in the ensuing gunfight with the terrorists.

“My son woke me up just before seven in the morning and told me there were gunshots at the synagogue and that he saw people fleeing the scene,” Zohar Ross, the photographer, recounted to Ynet. Ross’ house is across the street from the site of the massacre. “I ran to the balcony and the first thing I saw was Shmuel Goldstein running out and shouting ‘there is a massacre here.’ I told my wife to call the police and got my camera.”

A police investigation revealed that the terrorists timed their attack so that the synagogue was packed with Jewish worshipers.

“I hid behind the railing and continued to take pictures,” Ross continued. “A gun fight developed and then the first terrorist was killed.” The second terrorist came out, and before he was shot by the police he managed to critically wound Officer Zidan Saif.

“I was so involved with the photos that I did not realize the horrific scene developing before my eyes. I felt I had to continue taking pictures in case the terrorists escaped.”

The vicious terror attack left Rabbi Avraham Shmuel Goldberg, Rabbi Kalman Levine, Rabbi Moshe Twersky and Rabbi Aryeh Kupinsky dead inside the synagogue, and Master Sergeant Zidan Saif dead outside.
