Jerusalem Terror Attack

As the residents of Jerusalem celebrated Purim Friday morning, a car-ramming and knifing terror attack injured 5 Israelis near a Jerusalem light rail station.

A terror attack in Jerusalem on Friday morning March 6 left five people injured when a car drove into them at a light rail station. Israel’s emergency services organization Magen David Adom (MDA) was alerted that a number of people were injured on Shimon HaTzadik street when a car slammed into a group of people including three female police officers, according to early reports.

MDA spokesman Zaki Heller said that paramedics immediately arrived on scene and treated the five who were injured, all who were conscious. Early reports indicate that two of the victims were moderately injured.

Shimon HaTzadik street was the site the November 5, hit and run terror attack that killed one border police officer and injured 13 people.

Israel National News reported a police statement that clarified that the Arab terrorist drove his car towards an IDF base before going up on the sidewalk and running over five people.

The suspect continued driving but was shot by forces stationed at the gate of the base, at which point he got out of the car with a knife in his hand and proceed to attack victims.

A police spokesman’s statement said “a young man rammed his car (into pedestrians), and then got out and tried to stab people.” He was then shot by an armed security guard.

Three policewomen were among the injured.

Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat said “We will not allow terrorism to disrupt our daily lives and we will continue to fight it without compromise.” He praised those “who brought the incident to a swift end and prevented further harm.”

Hamas was quick to praise the Jerusalem terror attack by calling it a “heroic action… that is a natural response to Israeli crimes.”

Petition to the United States and European Union

We demand that all funding of the PA be stopped immediately. The brutal murder of Israelis committed by Palestinian terrorists throughout Israel is the latest result of ongoing PA incitement against Israeli citizens. Funding the PA means funding terror.
