British rock mega-band Queen is bravely ignoring the anti-Israel boycott movement and is on its way to play in Israel where it is slated to rock the Hayarkon Park in Tel Aviv in September.

The performance is part of the band’s European tour together with American Idol’s Adam Lambert, who is serving as the band front man instead of the late Freddie Mercury.

The concert will be Queen’s first in Israel.

“This is an amazing opportunity at last to bring Queen music live to thousands of folks who have been devoted to our music for years. Can’t wait,” band guitarist Brian May said.

“I am excited to perform with Queen in Tel Aviv for the first time, and we’re looking forward to giving everyone a show to remember,” Lambert added.

Since first sharing the stage for the final of American Idol in May 2009, Queen and Adam Lambert have been confirmed worldwide as a successful partnership with over 70 sold out shows in every part of the world and a concert audience to date of well over a million people.

Queen joins a long list of prestigious performers who have announced they will perform in Israel in 2016, including Jennifer LopezElton John, Deep Purple, Sia, the Chemical Brothers Julio Iglesias, Megadeth, Pharrell Williams and the Scorpions.
