Palestinians opposed to dialogue with Israel, claiming to defend human rights, forced the cancellation of peace-oriented activities in Jerusalem.
A group of Palestinian Arabs forced the cancellation of an Israeli-Palestinian peace conference scheduled to take place in Jerusalem last Friday, saying that it contributed to the “normalization” of the “Israeli occupation.”
The Palestinian Ma’an news agency reports that the conference had been organized by the “Creativity for Peace” group and was set to take place in the Legacy Hotel.
However, the hotel cancelled the event after they were contacted by the Palestinians, who were identified only as “activists.” The hotel management later claimed ignorance, saying it was unaware of the conference and had assumed that a tourism company had booked the hall.
Creativity for Peace is a non-profit organization that works with young Israeli and Palestinian women on “collaborative leadership and peacemaking,” according to the organization’s website.
‘Gangsters, Not Activists’
Discussing the self-proclaimed activists, prominent Palestinian human rights activist Bassam Eid wrote on his Facebook page: “They are gangsters, not activists, who are trying to add more suffer[ing] to the Palestinians.”
Palestinians opposed to normalization with the Jewish state, working to delegitimize the Jewish state, have repeatedly disrupted activity by organizations aiming to facilitate dialogue and understanding.
When Palestinian and Israeli boys met in southern Israel for a football match in September last year, for instance, Palestinian Football Association (PFA) president Jibril Rajoub stated: “Any activity of normalization in sports with the Zionist enemy is a crime against humanity.”

We demand that all funding of the PA be stopped immediately. The brutal murder of Israelis committed by Palestinian terrorists throughout Israel is the latest result of ongoing PA incitement against Israeli citizens. Funding the PA means funding terror.
