The spokesman for the Sudanese Army argued that it was the Islamist and pan-Arab leaderships of the past that entangled Sudan in problems with Israel.
Mohammadain Mohammad Ishaq, spokesman for the Sudan Liberation Army – Transitional Council, said that Sudan’s Revolutionary Front has no objections whatsoever to the normalization of relations with Israel that were announced a little over a week ago.
He argued that it is the Islamist and pan-Arab leadership of the past that entangled Sudan in problems with Israel and that Sudan doesn’t actually have any dispute with the Jewish state.
Sudan’s top prioritiy is to do what is in the Sudanese people’s best interests, he said, adding, “with all due respect to [the] Palestinian people, they are still better off than the people in rural Sudan.”
