The premise of the Paris conference contradicts a ruling by France's highest court.

Israel's ambassador to the UN slammed Sunday’s Paris conference on the diplomatic process between Israel and the Palestinians.

Anti-Israel elements are gathering in Paris in another attempt to ambush Israel and pressure it into concessions to the Palestinians, supposedly in a move towards peace.

The Quartet of Mideast negotiators - the UN, US, EU and Russia - published its latest report in which it blasts Israel for building in Judea and Samaria and compares such construction to terrorism. On the flip-side, and in a first-ever for the Quartet, the report focused heavily on Palestinian incitement.

Addressing the European Parliament on Thursday, Palestinian Authority (PA) head Mahmoud Abbas claimed Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria is the root cause of global terrorism and is encouraging extremists. Abbas also refused to meet Israeli President Reuven Rivlin.

In a move some say hints of Europe's colonialist past, the EU decided to ignore issues that are far more important to Europe and the world, such as the Syrian civil war, Brexit, immigration and Islamic terror, and instead wants to pressure Israel into making dangerous concessions to the Palestinians.

The Palestinian leader said Saturday that if an upcoming Paris conference succeeds in relaunching the long-stalled Palestinian-Israeli negotiations, it should also set a time cap and mechanisms to implement their resolutions.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Monday with French Prime Minister Manuel Valls to discuss the French initiative to restart the stalled Israel-Palestinian negotiations, which Israel has repeatedly rejected.

While the aim of the French initiative is to “encourage” bilateral negotiations, let no one be fooled: This is really about pushing the 2002 Saudi peace initiative, which asks nothing less than Israel’s withdrawal to the 1949 armistice lines and a “just” solution to the refugee issue.
