Israel’s Civil Aviation Authority recently gave authorization to a Hermes 900 Starliner aerial drone to fly in the country’s entire civilian airspace.

This drone can stay airborne for up to 36 hours and has been converted for use in search and rescue operations to deliver life rafts to the middle of the ocean.

The Swiss parliament on Monday approved the purchase of six Hermes 900 drones, at a cost of $250 million, from the Israeli manufacturer Elbit Systems.
