Israel has shifted refuelers that had been stationed at Ben-Gurion Airport to southern Israeli bases and Ramon Airport to avoid disruptions to international flights.

The IAF received the first of six new KC-46 Pegasus aerial refueling aircraft, a delivery that significantly extends Israel's long-range strike capabilities.

The KC-46 is widely regarded as one of the most advanced refueling aircraft in the world.

The contract is valued at roughly half a billion dollars and funded through U.S. aid.
