Bereaved aunt in poignant letter to baby nephew killed in Palestinian terror attack: ‘They will never break us.’

By The Algemeiner

The 14-year-old aunt of the Israeli baby boy who was delivered early and subsequently passed away after his mother was seriously wounded in a Palestinian shooting attack near Ofra earlier this month has written a poignant letter to her departed relative.

Bina Silberstein, the sister of Shira Ish-Ran, wrote:

My sweetheart. My prince, my Amiad. The nephew who I so much wanted to meet.

We talked about you so much; we were so excited that you were coming into our lives, so many expectations.

I remember when I felt Shira’s tummy — a knock, and another knock… you so much wanted to emerge into a world of good life! So many expectations. I was so excited that I was going to be a doda — an auntie!

And suddenly, BOOM!

Your life was taken away.

And you hadn’t done anything wrong.

Three days old!

A baby who caused so much happiness, taken so cruelly. You were so pure. So beautiful.

And your heroic Imma and Abba, whose greatest dream was to raise a family, to bring children into this world; they were almost there … and then the worst happened.

My beloved Amiad.

I want you to know that they will never break us. We are the strongest. With G-d’s help, your parents will raise the most magnificent family, and we will continue to exist. We will show the despicable murderers that nothing can break us. We will continue our way of life, and you will look over us from above. Tell G-d to take care of us, and that He should give your Imma, Abba and whole family a whole lot of strength — because we need it.

My Amiadi, I want you to know that so many prayers were said for you! So many! But I guess that your neshama, your soul, was so perfect that G-d had no choice but to take you. I guess that your role was to take care of your wonderful mother so that she will live, with G-d’s help, for many more years.

Hashem Yikom Damcha — May G-d avenge you.

I love you so much,

Bina, your Doda [aunt] who you weren’t able to know
