Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said he believes the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is solvable, and he would love to be a part of the process, while he did concede it was more complicated to negotiate than any of his business deals.

Speaking to potential voters at Indiana on Sunday ahead of Tuesday’s crucial primaries and criticizing the United Nations for its inaction, Trump asked why “isn’t the UN making deals? Why aren’t they working with Israel and the Palestinians as an example?”

While conceding that a deal between Israel and the Palestinian “is probably the all-time hard deal to make,” he said he is going to “try and make that deal just because  – man, would that be a beauty – if you like deals. I like deals. I do deals. That would be great. Very hard.”

He said he is told by “a lot” of his Jewish friends that he will “never be able to make the deal” because there are so many years of hatred, “especially on the other side,” meaning the Palestinians.

He elaborated on how the entire Palestinian governmental system is geared towards Jew hatred. “You know, they grow up as young children hating, hating, hating Israel.”

On the other hand, he has “never met a person from Israel that didn’t want to make the deal. But it is just a very hard deal to make because it’s years of — of whatever. But I’d love to be able to make that deal.”

That being said, Trump still thinks the deal can be made, “but we got to be smart and we got to use our best people; gotta use me, but we got to use our best people. And I know the best people.”
