Two prominent figures in the White House, Katie Rose Waldman and Stephen Miller, were married Sunday at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, with Rabbi Aryeh Lightstone, a senior adviser to U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, officiating, The New York Times reported.
Waldman, 28, serves as a special assistant to President Donald Trump and is the press secretary for Vice President Mike Pence.
From November 2017 to February 2019, she held the position of spokeswoman for the Department of Homeland Security during the tenure of Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen, the newspaper notes.
She is a daughter of Sheryl and Glenn Waldman of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Miller, 34, is a controversial senior White House adviser and has served as the top aide on immigration to the president, “directly shaping policies that aim to restrict the number of immigrants coming to the country,” The New York Times reports.
Miller had already become the senior policy adviser on the Trump campaign for the presidency in January 2016 and was appointed the policy director for the Trump transition team after the victory in the November 2016 election, it adds.
He is a son of Miriam and Michael Miller of Los Angeles, says the report.
“The couple had spoken many times on the phone in the course of their work, including multiple conference calls, but had never met in person. They were introduced by mutual friends on a Friday in spring 2018 and were engaged about a year and a half later,” says The New York Times.
