Two soldiers were moderately wounded in a car-ramming terror attack by a Palestinian terrorist just east of Jerusalem Friday morning.
A vehicular attack – one of the most popular forms of assault used in the current Palestinian wave of terror, along with stabbing – occurred Friday morning at the Kfar Adumim junction in Judea, just east of Jerusalem. Two soldiers were injured.
One of the victims was rushed to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in the capital, suffering wounds all over his body. The other, lightly injured in the legs, was taken to Hadassah Mount Scopus hospital.
The terrorist, 30-year-old Fadi Hassib, a father of two, is from the Ramallah district.
On Thursday, speaking to journalists at the Alon Shvut junction in Judea, IDF Spokesperson Peter Lerner explained that the terrorists “specifically search out” these types of areas with large Israeli and Arab populations, where it’s easier “to get access.”
Terrorists are ‘Mimicking Each Other’
The terrorists use methods ranging “from stabbing to ramming with a vehicle to shooting like what happened last Thursday (when three civilians, including an American, were killed),” Lerner said. They are “mimicking each other, carrying out these acts filled with hate,” promoted by Palestinian incitement from both “social media and traditional media.”
It’s a “huge challenge for us,” he added, “but our mission is to prevent it from happening and to prevent a more sophisticated terror infrastructure. In Gush Etzion over the past two months there were four stabbings, six car rammings, one incident of shooting, 15 incidents of Molotov cocktails thrown at civilians (not including military) and about 150-160 incidents of stone-throwing.”
On Thursday morning, a Palestinian terrorist tried stabbing an IDF soldier at the Tapuach Junction in Samaria, but was shot dead before he could hurt anyone.
