United with Israel presented a petition – signed by over 100,000 American supporters – to the US embassy, demanding that President Obama and the US Congress continue with sanctions until Iran’s nuclear program is completely dismantled.

With the signatures of over 100,000 supporters from the United States in hand, United with Israel Executive Director David Zeit met with Keith Mines, the Political Counselor at the US Embassy in Tel Aviv, and ceremoniously presented him with five copies of United With Israel’s petition urging President Obama and the US Congress to prevent Iran from reaching nuclear capability.

The petition, signed by 105,485 US citizens and over 175,000 supporters worldwide, prominently visible on UWI’s website and exposed to millions of online visitors, reads as follows:

URGENT CALL TO PRESIDENT OBAMA AND THE US CONGRESS

“We strongly oppose any deal with Iran that allows for easing sanctions before the nuclear threat has been completely eliminated. Any agreement with Iran that allows it to maintain the ability to enrich uranium is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. A bad deal with Iran is far worse than no deal.

Crippling Iran’s economy had succeeded in weakening Iran’s negotiating position. In order to force Iran to completely abandon its nuclear program, the best course is to impose harsher economic sanctions.

Israel’s very existence is at stake and there can be no bargaining over Israel’s existence. While dialogue is important, there can be no compromise with or appeasement of leaders who are committed to the destruction of Israel. The Jewish People cannot and will not be threatened with another Holocaust.

The international community must keep the pressure on Iran with harsh sanctions and must demand that its nuclear program be completely dismantled. A nuclear Iran is a threat not only to Israel but to the entire free world.

Signing this petition will ensure that your name will be submitted to the White House and the US Congress and that you will get important updates from United with Israel and its affiliates.”

Copies of the petition that were handed to Mines were sent to Secretary of State John Kerry – and then forwarded to President Obama, Speaker of the House John Boehner, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Senator Ted Cruz and Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi.

At the meeting, Mines said, “The US Embassy meets frequently with grassroots citizen’s organizations and sees tremendous value in their ability to enhance the public dialogue over an issue and raise awareness among citizens in both Israel and the United States. Such organizations also play a key role in strengthening citizen to citizen relations, which are at the heart of our bilateral relations. We deeply respect their views and actively seek to reflect those views to policymakers.”

The petition to stop a nuclear Iran is an ongoing initiative that UWI intends to resubmit to President Obama and US officials, once another 100,000 signatures are received. Click here to sign your name.

WE URGE YOU TO SHARE THIS PETITION WITH YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!

Thank you to United with Israel supporters for making this initiative a huge success.

Nuclear Weapon Free Iran Act

The US Congress must ensure that sanctions against Iran remain in force until the nuclear threat is completely eliminated.

I strongly oppose easing sanctions before the nuclear threat from Iran has been eliminated. Allowing Iran to enrich uranium without being subject to 'anytime, anywhere' inspections is extremely dangerous and unacceptable. Iran's nuclear program must be stopped.
