An American Christian charity has donated two additional armored ambulances to Magen David Adom (MDA) in memory of murdered hostages, including US citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin.
Franklin Graham, the son of the late American evangelist Billy Graham and founder of Samaritan’s Purse, unveiled the donated ambulances at a ceremony in Avshalom, near the Gaza border.
During the ceremony, he honored the memories of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, a hostage whose body was retrieved by the IDF last month, as well as Roi Idan and Smadar Mor-Idan, who Hamas murdered on October 7th while their daughter Avigail was taken hostage.
“We are here to dedicate the two armored ambulances that have just arrived, as well as a new ambulance center near the Gaza border, where there has not been one before,” Graham said.
“The need is so great that we have committed to providing 28 more armored ambulances. The MDA team are heroes, saving lives daily, and standing with them is an honor.”
In January, Samaritan’s Purse donated 14 ambulances to the MDA to replenish their supplies.
Graham laid the cornerstone for the first MDA station in Avshalom and a station in Shlomi.
The stations are intended to support and facilitate emergency services for Israeli communities on the Gaza border.
Additionally, Samaritan’s Purse donated 1,000 trauma kits with medical supplies for border communities.
Eli Bin, Director General of Magen David Adom thanked Samaritan’s Purse and Franklin Graham for donating, “The generosity of Reverend Franklin Graham and his organization Samaritan’s Purse knows no bounds.”
“As he dedicated eight additional armored ambulances and two new MDA stations, he told me he would donate another 28, taking the total to 42 life-saving vehicles. The people of Israel are indebted to this great man and organization,” he said.
