On Wednesday, Israel’s UN envoy stormed out of the Iranian President’s UN speech while holding a photograph of his Holocaust-survivor grandparents.

In an interview on Sunday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi claimed Israel was a “fake regime” and said that there were only “some signs” that the Holocaust occurred. He said that there should be investigations to determine whether the Holocaust actually happened.

The Israeli ambassador to the United Nations, Gilad Erdan, walked out of Raisi’s UNGA speech on Wednesday while holding a picture of his Holocaust-survivor grandparents.

“A murderer like #Raisi who denies the Holocaust, (amongst many human rights violations) has no place on the world stage,” tweeted Erdan. “He asked for proof.. here are my Auschwitz surviving grandmothers.”
