Moldova’s Prime Minister Pavel Filip has announced his country’s intention to move its embassy to Jerusalem.

On Tuesday, the Republic of Modova’s Prime Minister Pavel Filip announced as an “urgent” matter his intention to move his country’s embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.

The small, Eastern European country would make Moldova the first European country to have its embassy in Jerusalem.

The United States, under the auspices of President Donald Trump, moved its embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv last year. With that precedent, Israel has urged other countries to follow suit.
