Findings at sites such as Bab edh-Dhra and Numeira show evidence of fires starting from above and sudden deaths, suggesting a catastrophic event rather than human warfare.
Kennedy adds that the nearby cave believed to be Lot’s refuge aligns with the geography, chronology, and ancient tradition surrounding the story.
