The soldiers’ faith in the Jewish people, Israel, and G-d, as well as their ability to prevail and win, was strengthened through the candle lighting on the front lines, performed by thousands of soldiers.

“We understand how crucial it is for the soldiers to light Chanukah candles,” said Aryeh Lurie, the founder of Yad Ezra V’Shulamit. “Therefore, in addition to the food and water we regularly deliver to soldiers on the north and south fronts, we felt the need to provide menorahs and candles for our boys to light and reconnect with our Jewish tradition and G-d,” Aryeh stated.

With 14 trucks at their disposal, Yad Ezra V’Shulamit, which typically delivers 12,000 food baskets weekly across 91 cities, efficiently mobilized their fleet to supply soldiers with the necessary food, water, tactical gear, and now, menorahs.

“We recognize that winning a war is impossible without G-d’s help. By distributing menorahs and lighting the candles with soldiers, we aim to rekindle the story of the Maccabees, showcasing their incredible bravery as they fought against all odds for the Jewish people and their faith. Our soldiers require more than just basic provisions; they need a surge of courage derived from our rich tradition, particularly during the holiday of Chanukah.”
