This year marks the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Hebron, the ancient Jewish city in the heart of the biblical region of Judea and Samaria. Come celebrate!
In 1967, the IDF liberated the Old City of Jerusalem, reuniting the ancient capital of the Jewish People.
What is often overlooked, however, is that only one day later, late IDF Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren also liberated the biblical Jewish city of Hebron – where King David had reigned prior to Jerusalem and the location of the Tomb of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs – purchased by Abraham for his wife Sarah, as recorded in Scripture.
