Foreign journalists who may have been unaware of the ancient Jewish ties to Jerusalem got a first-hand look at “the Jerusalem that was.”
Apparently responding to the distortion of history presented by the Palestinian Authority and others that deny the ancient Jewish ties to Jerusalem, Israel’s government press office organized an archaeological tour for foreign journalists – who learned a lot!
Such efforts are necessary since the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) passed a resolution denying Jewish ties to the Western Wall and the Temple Mount. In March, Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat took six ambassadors on a private tour of the City of David in Jerusalem’s Old City.
