Former Hamas hostage Sapir Cohen says she was able to survive her ordeal because of her faith. “I felt miracles,” she said of her time in the Hamas terror tunnels, according to FOX 5 New York.

“I think one of the biggest miracles I felt is that I understood that maybe I’m supposed to be in this place.”

Cohen recalled how she had a spiritual revelation in the tunnels after saying a prayer. “I felt peace, and I didn’t understand how I could feel it in this situation.”

From then on, she decided to shift her attention from her own suffering to helping another young female hostage.

“I wanted to help her and make her happy. From the moment I decided to take this responsibility, I felt so powerful.”
