Israeli researchers develop the first ever diagnostic test for Parkinson’s disease.
Israeli researchers have developed the first early detection method for Parkinson’s disease (PD).
PD is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system that mainly affects the motor system, with symptoms such as shaking, rigidity, slowness of movement, and difficulty with walking emerging over time.
PD affected 6.2 million people in 2015, including stars like Michael J. Fox and the late Muhammad Ali, and resulted in about 117,400 deaths globally.
With Israel developing the first ever diagnostic test for PD, early detection and life saving intervention may become the norm for PD patients.
