“For the pro-Palestinian congress members, this victory is very Pyrrhic because while Iron Dome probably saves hundreds of Israeli lives, it saves thousands of Palestinian lives,” says a former Israeli ambassador to the U.S.
The radical leftists who worked to halt US military aid to Israel have “scored a significant victory here. For the 1st time Congress has turned down a military aid package to Israel of any size,” explains Dr. Michael Oren, former Israeli ambassador to Washington.
“It’s very important to point out that for the pro-Palestinian congress members, this victory is very Pyrrhic because while Iron Dome probably saves hundreds of Israeli lives, it saves thousands of Palestinian lives.”
“Without Iron Dome, Israel under a barrage of Hamas rockets would have to invade Gaza,” killing thousands of Palestinians, Oren said.
Congress today approved $1 billion Iron Dome funding as standalone bill.
